Taichung Coastal Sustainable Fisheries｜Event Towel Design

Inspired by Taichung’s Coastline, Creating a Visual Story of Sustainable Fisheries and Marine Coexistence

This towel design is centered on the concept of “Sustainable Fisheries along the Taichung Coastline,” bringing together the region’s marine environment, ecology, local industry, green energy, and tourism into one cohesive visual narrative.

The composition connects marine ecosystems, fishing operations, Gaomei Wetlands, wind turbines, and a Ferris wheel landmark along a continuous visual path. Flowing wave lines act as the main graphic language, linking each scene naturally and creating a sense of movement across the towel.

Rather than focusing on fisheries alone, the design communicates the coexistence of sustainable fisheries, marine conservation, local industry, and everyday coastal life. Through this Event Towel Design, an everyday object becomes a visual medium for local culture, environmental awareness, and sustainability.

Ferris Wheel Landmark｜Connecting Coastal Scenery with Local Life and Tourism

A Ferris wheel is introduced on the right side of the composition as a recognizable symbol of Taichung’s coastal tourism, extending the visual story beyond the fishing industry to include leisure and everyday coastal experiences.

Its light, simplified silhouette blends naturally into the shoreline, alongside sandbanks, waves, and distant scenery. This arrangement allows fisheries, coastal landscapes, and tourism to coexist within the same visual narrative, presenting a richer and more diverse image of the Taichung coastline.

Gaomei Wetlands & Green Energy Wind Turbines｜Bringing Natural Landscapes and Sustainable Development Together

Gaomei Wetlands is one of the most recognizable natural landscapes along the Taichung coastline. The design uses golden sandbanks, shallow tidal flats, and reflective water surfaces to represent the wetland environment, while flowing wave elements help integrate the scenery into the overall composition.

Wind turbines appear in the distance as symbols of green energy, carbon reduction, and sustainable development. Rather than simply depicting the landscape, these elements highlight the relationship between the natural environment and modern renewable energy.

From wetlands and coastal waters to wind power, the visual expresses not only local identity, but also a broader reflection on environmental resources, coastal ecosystems, and the future of sustainable use.

Marine Ecosystem & Fishing Operations｜Illustrating the Relationship Between Fisheries and the Sea
On the left side of the composition, a fishing vessel, fishing nets, and schools of fish and shrimp form the main fishery-themed visual, representing local fishing activities and offshore operations.

The nets are illustrated with soft, clean lines to avoid an overly harsh or heavy impression of harvesting. Combined with swimming fish, seaweed, and underwater ecology, the scene maintains a sense of vitality and flow.
By placing the fishing vessel and the marine ecosystem within the same visual system, the design aims to express a balance between resource use and environmental protection. In this way, fisheries are presented not only as an industry, but also as part of a larger relationship with marine ecology and sustainable resource management.

Illustration Style & Color Palette｜Using Watercolor to Make Sustainability More Approachable

The overall visual adopts a hand-painted watercolor style, combining soft brushwork with irregular color blocks to create a natural, warm, and approachable character.

Compared with more technical or information-driven environmental visuals, the watercolor treatment helps reduce the distance often associated with topics such as sustainability, fisheries, and marine conservation. This makes the design feel more accessible and better suited to an event towel and public-awareness application.

The palette is built around ocean blue, sky blue, light blue-gray, and green, with accents of sand yellow, coral orange, and soft pink. These colors maintain a fresh coastal atmosphere while adding warmth, contrast, and visual depth.

Through the integration of color, brushwork, and illustration, the final visual achieves a balance of natural character, educational value, and local identity.

From Local Culture to Sustainability｜Creating a Coastal Visual You Can Take With You

This project goes beyond a single Printed Towel Design. Drawing from Taichung’s coastal culture, fishing industry, natural ecology, and sustainable development, MASOU DESIGN created a narrative-driven Illustrated Towel Design with a cohesive visual system.

By integrating Custom Towel Design, Sports Towel Design, Watercolor Illustration Design, and Sustainable Fishery Design, the project transforms Gaomei Wetlands, fishing activities, marine ecosystems, green energy wind turbines, and coastal tourism into one unified visual language.

More than an event souvenir, the towel becomes a visual medium for Marine Conservation Visual Design, Taichung Coastal Culture, and the idea of a more sustainable relationship with the ocean.
